Apollo Moon Landing

Whenever I think about the Apollo missions, really stop and think about it, I am utterly amazed at what was accomplished during those years.  But the thing that impresses me the most was not just that we landed men on the moon…but that we also managed to bring them back from the moon.

I wonder if I am the only one who feels this way…

By the way.  There have been many great documentaries made on the topic, but one in particular I’d like to recommend.  At just under two hours, “In the Shadow of the Moon” can easily been watched (in its entirety) in a single sitting.  Produced by Ron Howard and Directed by David Sington, this retrospective look at the Apollo Mission, from the perspective of the Astronauts who lived it, is informative, insightful and moving.

My hat’s off to all the men and women who worked tirelessly on that program to fulfill its mandate, and forever extend the limits of human exploration.
